Supervision and Case Consultation

In my 20 years in the field of mental health I have experienced the best and worst of clinical supervision- I use both to inform the supervision and consultation I provide.

I offer clinical supervision from a ‘reflective practice’ perspective and I learned from one of the best in the field at this style of supervision- the late Doug Davies, Ph.D. of the University of Michigan. Reflective practice supervision goes beyond the superficial details of case presentation and diagnosis and instead focuses on building the mentee's skill, awareness, and artistry by exploring dynamics that influence the therapist and client.

I have been humbled and informed by work in some of the most challenging mental health settings including residential inpatient, sex offender treatment, rural Alaska outpatient, primary care, and remote Alaska crisis response. I have provided clinical supervision and consultation for Head Start, independent practitioners, residential treatment, schools, social emotional learning teams, and primary care. I work hard to grow and improve in my work so that I can provide the best supervision and consultation.

As a therapist I am humanistic oriented and trained/certified in Brainspotting, EMDR, Sensorimotor and Internal Family Systems- this background informs my therapeutic approach.

I am certified as a supervisor by the Alaska Board of Professional Counselors. I provide consultation for professional counselors and social workers.
